Digital channels provide one of the most cost-effective ways for business growth and export market development. Choosing how and where to incorporate digital into your business activities varies for every company, depending on your resources, capabilities and target market.

The objective of the Enterprise Ireland Digital Marketing Capability Grant is to assist export-focused clients across all sectors to exploit digital channels as a route to market. It aims to assist them in developing a strategy that will shape how they do business online and to maximise the opportunities presented by the internet as a business development channel. Such activities may include:

Strategic review of existing digital channels and development of your company’s future digital marketing strategy.
Understanding international best practice, competitive landscape, effective tools and strategies in the area of digital marketing.
Embedding digital marketing practices and skills in your company by developing the capabilities of senior management.

Enterprise Ireland will provide grant funding for 50% of the eligible costs of the project up to a maximum of €70,000 (€35,000 grant). This funding is used towards engaging a suitable digital marketing agency/consultant. Funding up to a certain level can also cover part of the salary cost of an internal ‘project champion’, a management level person who will be responsible for driving continuous measurable improvement and efficiencies relating to the project.

What Can You Use the Grant for?

The Digital Marketing Capability Support grant can be used for a wide range of digital marketing related activities.

Examples of eligible activities include:

Optimising Your Web Presence to ensure visibility in your target export market. This can include elements such as design, navigation, loading speed optimisation, IP country recognition, landing page design, translation & localisation, search engine visibility and SEO optimised to specific export markets.
Review & Audit of Your Digital Marketing Capability
This would include an in-depth analysis of your web presence, target audience, and your brand (from a marketing perspective). Completing the audit should help you make informed decisions about which online marketing channels are the most appropriate and cost effective.
Digital Marketing Strategy Development
Development of a written online marketing strategy and production of a roadmap for implementation of this strategy (incorporating resource/ process considerations).
Web Optimisation & Utilisation
Ensure that your web presence is being fully utilised/optimised to fulfil its overall marketing potential, tying in with and supporting other initiatives that have been undertaken or are planned for the future.
Training for Measuring, Monitoring, Moderating & Managing Online Marketing Channels (including SEO, Analytics, Google Adwords, email marketing and social media campaigns, etc)
Comprehensive analysis of your competitor’s online presence.
A review of your competitors, both within Ireland and in your target export markets, in terms of their web and social media presence, SEO performance, online advertising activity, email marketing.
Content Development
Development of content to ensure that you are portraying a consistent message and posting information online that supports the development of your brand and meets the needs of your target audience and export market.
Identifying Your Company's Value Proposition, how this should be communicated, what should be emphasised and then how to present this to the user.
Website Translation/Localisation for Specific Markets & Cultures - a limited number of localised landing pages are allowed. (Marketing/technical brochures, white papers are excluded).
PPC (Pay-per-click), Google Ads & Social Ads Campaign Strategy Development; (Note: actual online advertising spend on Google, Meta and similar channels is not covered, just the planning/design/development of such advertising).
